Beijing Municipality will donate protective supplies including medical isolation gowns and gloves to cities of Seoul, Tehran, Tokyo and Yokohama to help with their novel coronavirus control.
Some 200,000 medical isolation gowns, 100,000 pairs of gloves, 200,000 pairs of shoe covers and 200,000 disposable medical caps will be delivered to these cities, according to Li Yi, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of Beijing municipal government.
Hand sanitizers, nucleic acid testing kits, intelligent thermometer equipment and ventilators are also among the items to be donated.
Li said Beijing was deeply grateful for the consolation and donations from its international sister cities since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
"Now that the epidemic has basically been contained in China but continues to spread globally, we would like to make our efforts to help the above four cities with the fight," he said.
Incomplete statistics showed Beijing received foreign donations of 1.13 million face masks, 220,000 protective suits and 750,000 pairs of gloves, among others.
