Panasonic Appliances Air-Conditioning (Guangzhou) Co Ltd (PAPAGZ), a joint venture company in Guangzhou's Panyu district, has received a thank you note from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games organizers,Nanfang Plusreported on March 14.
The letter expressed thanks to PAPAGZ's understanding and support to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as the company has overcome the difficulties caused by the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) and delivered products ahead of schedule so that the construction could continue as scheduled.

"With the support from departments, such as customs, our company has resumed production, making sure that 400,000 air conditioners could be exported to overseas markets, especially those that will be used in the athletes' village for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games," said Liang Feng, head of PAPAGA.
"The production of the company went down by 27 percent in early February due to the epidemic and the Japanese customers had worried a lot about their orders," noted Liang.
Guangzhou Customs has offered a great deal of support to the company, helping the company to handle the clearance of 200,000 imported masks, as well as various imported production raw materials. The company has resumed operation since Feb 10.
