As of March 5, 857 of the 859 major projects under construction at the autonomous region level in Guangxi have been resumed, a rate of 99.8 percent.
Recently, Guangxi has issued an implementation plan to promote the construction of major projects in 2020, including a total of 1,132 projects with a total investment of 191.9 billion yuan ($282.43 billion). Among them, 140 are new projects and 859 projects are under construction.
In order to cope with the spread of the novel coronavirus, Guangxi has increased policy support, as well as strengthened coordination and scheduling to ensure the resumption of work. Strong support measures have been put forward, green channels for the resumption of supplies for enterprises have been established, and special funds have been set up by the region and cities in Guangxi for related enterprises of projects under construction.

According to a press conference held on Mar 6, a total of 59 major transportation projects and all eight water projects in the region have resumed work by the end of February.
In addition, the resumption of the key projects of the China-ASEAN Information Harbor has progressed rapidly, which is important as 2020 is the year of China-ASEAN digital economy cooperation. The China-ASEAN Information Harbor, jointly constructed by China and the ASEAN countries, is gradually forming a China-ASEAN information hub with Guangxi as the fulcrum.
