Fresh Mart, a convenience store operated by CP Group, will open in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province in the near future.
CP Group is focusing on developing its presence in Qingdao amid the novel coronavirus outbreak. It plans to open a total of 50 Fresh Marts the city, with 10 in Shinan district. The community-level convenience stores are expected to meet the daily needs of local residents and mitigate the supply shortages caused by the virus.
A variety of operation models, such as business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C) and online-to-offline (O2O), will be adopted at all communities in the district.
Unfortunately, the project failed to complete declaration procedures, as several members of the board of directors were unable to travel to Qingdao due to travel restrictions related to the novel coronavirus.
After learning about the situation, Shinan district's bureau of administrative services held a video conference to inform CP Group that it could sign a letter of commitment and submit the required documents at a later date. The district has established a service group to handle problems experienced by local enterprises and is offering targeted support amid the epidemic control.
