On March 6, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 99 new cases of confirmed infections, 99 new cases of suspected infections, and 28 deaths (all in Hubei province). 1,678 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 4,773 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 248.
As of 24:00 on March 6, the National Health Commission had received 80,651 reports of confirmed cases and 3,070 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 55,404 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 22,177 confirmed cases (including 5,489 in serious condition) and 502 suspected cases. So far, 672,458 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 26,730 are now under medical observation.
On March 6, Hubei reported 74 new cases of confirmed infections (all in Wuhan), 47 new cases of suspected infections (including 46 in Wuhan), and 28 deaths (including 21 in Wuhan). 1,502 patients were released from hospital after being cured, including 1,157 in Wuhan.
As of 24:00 on March 6, Hubei had reported 67,666 cases of confirmed infections (including 49,871 in Wuhan) and 2,959 deaths (including 2,349 in Wuhan). In all, 43,468 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 28,511 in Wuhan. There still remained 21,239 confirmed cases (including 19,011 in Wuhan), with 5,359 in serious condition (including 5,028 in Wuhan), and 301 suspected cases (including 256 in Wuhan).
On March 6, the Chinese mainland reported 24 new imported confirmed cases from overseas (17 in Gansu province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality, and 1 in Guangdong province). As of 24:00 on March 6, the Chinese mainland had reported 60 imported confirmed cases from overseas.
As of 24:00 on March 6, 162 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 107 in Hong Kong (2 had been dead and 51 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 10 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 45 in Taiwan (1 had been dead and 12 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
