Guiyang environmental department supports companies to resume operations

The Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment recently launched measures to support companies resuming work and to reduce the impact of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The bureau opened green channels that can complete an environmental impact assessment of key projects in two days. Special work teams have been organized to promote construction or work resumption, while ensuring the stable operation of pollution control facilities.

The bureau has also innovated the online application that allows companies to apply for a pollutants discharge license via the internet. Companies can learn the online registration process through the bureau's live stream.

According to Guiyang's epidemic prevention and control requirements, the bureau adopts big data and cloud computing to monitor pollutant discharging.

From Feb 9 to March 3, the bureau inspected companies 818 times to learn their needs and difficulties during work resumption. They also provided them guidance for rectifying environmental problems, as well as on the operation of pollution prevention and control facilities.

To date, all the hospitals, health centers, sewage treatment plants, and designated hotels for quarantine are running normally.
