A novel coronavirus pneumonia patient has been cured in Baotou city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and was discharged from Baotou No 3 Hospital on Feb 19, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.
The release marked the first discharged novel coronavirus pneumonia patient in Baotou, officials said.
The discharged patient, surnamed Lyu, is from Hondlon district in Baotou.
Lyu received treatment at the fever clinic set up at the First Affiliated Hospital of Baotou Medical College on Jan 26.
On Jan 27, Lyu was diagnosed with the coronavirus pneumonia due following a positive result from a nucleic acid test. She was transferred to Baotou No 3 Hospital on Jan 28.
After 22 days of active treatment by the medical staff, a positive outcome was reached through a combination of drug therapy and psychological counseling.
According to doctors at Baotou No 3 Hospital, after being discharged, the patient will still be observed for two weeks in isolation. The hospital will follow up daily, to keep track of the patient's condition after discharge.
She will be asked to review her chest CAT scan again for further evaluation in two weeks. The results of the examinations will then be followed by a remote consultation by the expert group from the autonomous region, to determine if the patient has completely recovered and can be released from quarantine.
As of 8 am on Feb 20, a total of 11 novel coronavirus pneumonia cases had been found in Baotou, with seven in Tumd Right Banner, three in Hondlon district and one in Donghe district.
