Suspended Baotou bus, intracity services resume

Baotou city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has resumed some of its suspended bus and intercity bus services to provide convenience for residents and commuters, starting from 6 pm on Feb 24, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.

A total of 16 bus lines were reopened: lines 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 11, 15, 15, 21, 24, 26, 32, 35, 36, 50, 54, 54 and 61.

The Baotou Public Transport Group has implemented real-name registration for passengers. Passenger need to scan QR codes to register when traveling by public transport.

Local officials said the preferential policies for senior citizens and free passes for people with disabilities are currently suspended and will resume immediately after the novel coronavirus epidemic is over.

In terms of the intracity bus services, routes linking the urban areas of Baotou with Guyang county, Bayan Obo mining district and Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner have been resumed.

Officials said the other routes will be resumed in an orderly manner according to the epidemic prevention and control situation and the demand for passenger flow.

They added that currently, the passenger loads of passenger vehicles is being strictly controlled.

Passengers need to register with their name when entering the station and sit in every other seat.

Officials added that passengers need to take body temperature measurements when entering and departing bus stations and those with a body temperature over 37.3C must be reported to the health department immediately.
