On March 2, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 125 new cases of confirmed infections, 129 new cases of suspected infections, and 31 deaths (all in Hubei province). 2,742 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 7,650 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 304.
As of 24:00 on March 2, the National Health Commission had received 80,151 reports of confirmed cases and 2,943 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 47,204 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 30,004 confirmed cases (including 6,806 in serious condition) and 587 suspected cases. So far, 664,899 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 40,651 are now under medical observation.
On March 2, Hubei reported 114 new cases of confirmed infections (including 111 in Wuhan), 64 new cases of suspected infections (including 62 in Wuhan), and 31 deaths (including 24 in Wuhan). 2,410 patients were released from hospital after being cured, including 1,846 in Wuhan.
As of 24:00 on March 2, Hubei had reported 67,217 cases of confirmed infections (including 49,426 in Wuhan) and 2,834 deaths (including 2,251 in Wuhan). In all, 36,167 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 23,031 in Wuhan. There still remained 28,216 confirmed cases (including 24,144 in Wuhan), with 6,593 in serious condition (including 6,020 in Wuhan), and 434 suspected cases (including 316 in Wuhan).
As of 24:00 on March 2, 151 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 100 in Hong Kong (2 had been dead and 36 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 10 in Macao (8 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 41 in Taiwan (1 had been dead and 12 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
