A string of regions in China have raced to roll out lists of major projects to be constructed or that are currently under construction this year, reported the Shanghai Securities News.
Beijing, for instance, issued a list involving 300 key projects with a planned investment of 252.3 billion yuan (about 36 billion U.S. dollars).
Of the total, 66.2 billion yuan is expected to go to 100 infrastructure projects, including seven national railway projects, five suburban rail projects, 16 subway projects, 12 highway projects and 16 urban road projects, said the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform.
The Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission has released a list of major projects to be constructed in 2020. It involves 152 formal projects, including 24 new projects.
Central China's Henan province issued a key project list, involving 980 projects and 3.3 trillion yuan of investment. Of the total, 837.2 billion yuan of investment is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
To strengthen financial support, Northwest China's Shaanxi province has set up 120 billion yuan of special funds to support the construction of the key projects.
