Through the combined efforts of the Suzhou people, prevention and control of COVID-19 has produced positive results over the last month. There has been no new confirmed or suspected case of the virus in Suzhou since February 24, 2020. Jiangsu Province lowered the COVID-19 emergency response level from first to second level. However, we must remain vigilant of the severity and complexity of the COVID-19 outbreak internationally. With confirmed cases surging in several countries, the disease has yet to be contained effectively. Some countries have raised their COVID-19 alert to the highest possible level.
For the sake of improving prevention and control work, ensuring the safety of you and your family, and protecting the city, please heed the following suggestions.
I. Strengthen self-protection measures and minimize outdoor activities. Avoid crowds, group meals, and gatherings of any kind. Always wear a face mask correctly when going out. Discard used masks according to regulations. Maintain good hygiene, especially mouth and hand hygiene. Avoid contact with wild animals or poultry. Cook meat and eggs thoroughly before consuming.
II. If experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, headache, difficulty in breathing, or fatigue, please avoid contact with others, protect yourself, and seek medical help at designated hospitals. Be sure to truthfully report your travel history and contact history.
III. If you have recently come back from Japan or South Korea, please contact your community staff immediately and truthfully report your travel history. You will be required to undergo quarantine at home for 14 days and should regularly monitor your health conditions. Cooperation from your company will also be needed.
