North China's Shanxi province restarted normal operations of its China Railway Express freight train to Europe on Feb 25 -- with a freight train departing for Minsk, capital of Belarus on the day, according to rail officials.
Loaded with flanges, towels, luggage, bicycle accessories and general merchandise, the cargo train which is hauling 42 containers is expected to arrive at its destination in 15 days.
To date, Shanxi has opened eight freight train routes running to 22 cities in nine countries.
Officials said the foreign trade value of the province reached 144.69 billion yuan ($20.64 billion) in 2019, representing a year-on-year growth of 5.7 percent and ranking it 17th in China.
