The market supervision department of Pudong New Area recently improved the record filing procedures for non-special-purpose cosmetic imports by allowing applicants to fulfill all procedures online and by mail instead of visiting the administrative authorities in person.
Non-special-purpose cosmetics refer to cosmetics with no medicinal effects, such as hair care products, skin care products, lip care products, nail care products, perfumes and make-up.
Applicants just need to file an application online and mail the necessary paper documents to the department for verification and filing, whereas previously they had to go to designated windows to submit the documents in person.
The move is intended to shorten the record filing period for non-special-purpose cosmetic imports and avoid cross-infection during the epidemic control period.
The department has handled 'no visit' record filings for 34 importers since work resumed around two weeks ago.
The department said they have considered making the system permanent in the future, in an effort to streamline administrative procedures and enhance the local business climate.
