Located in the south of the Baoshan Mountain and in the north of Jianshui River, Huazhou Confucian Temple is symmetrical from east to west and covers an area of over 10,000 square meters. It was built in the 31st year of the Emperor Gaozong Period of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), and was reconstructed in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. With carved beams, painted rafters and majestic decorations, it is the largest, most historic, and best preserved Confucian temple in Western Guangdong. As the only large-scale ancient building that has witnessed the history of local politics, economy and culture, it is a key cultural relic under the protection of Guangdong Province and a member of the Confucius Temple Protection Association of China.

On Sept 28 of every year, our city organizes grand worship events to promote ancient rituals and Confucian culture. At that time teachers and students from the schools in western Guangdong and other citizens come to pay homage to Confucius. These events have promoted the construction of a harmonious society, and have become representative of local cultural tourism. At present, government agencies, schools, and societies at all levels are building learning, education, and practice bases in the temple, with the aim to educate the general public.
