A letter to foreign friends in Shaoxing

On the occasion of Chinese Spring Festival, the Foreign Affairs Office of Shaoxing Municipal People’s Government extends its sincere greetings and best wishes to all foreign friends in Shaoxing.

In response to the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV, Shaoxing Municipal People’s Government has activated Level I public health emergency response since January 23. Department of all levels have been mobilized promptly, taking high-level prevention and control measures to curb the spread of the virus. We hereby put forward the following advocates to all foreign friends in Shaoxing:

1. Follow official updates. Follow sxfabu, Shaoxing News APP, Shaoxing Health, gh-efa99a2ec091 (the official WeChat account run by Shaoxing Municipal Health Commission) and other official media outlets for the most recent updates. Check out the list of designated hospitals in Shaoxing, and look for prevention and treatment guides. If you have any questions, please call 24-hour CDC inquiry line 85551691, or coronavirus service line 85166293 of Shaoxing Foreign Affairs Office. Avoid believing and spreading false and unverified information.

2. Increase prevention and self-protection. Stay away from the source of infection, do not go out as far as possible, do not participate in gathering activities, wear a surgical mask when going out, avoid close contact with cough, fever patients, avoid visiting patients in the hospital. Pay attention to personal hygiene, wash hands frequently, cover mouth and nose with tissue or elbow when coughing or sneezing; Get enough sleep, keep a cheerful mood, drink plenty of water, take exercise frequently, and strengthen immunity.

3. Join in our mass prevention and control efforts.If you have been to the infected regions recently, or if contacted people who are from the epidemic areas, please immediately report to the community where you reside, cooperate with community or medical staff if they inquire about your condition, and stay at home under medical observation for 14 days.
