In June, Che Jun, secretary of Zhejiang provincial Party committee, wrote a preface for a book series featuring the province's fourth list of national intangible cultural heritages. On Aug 16, the provincial department of culture and tourism published a general history of Zhejiang's efforts to protect intangible cultural heritages.

On July 12, an exhibition of Zhejiang's intangible cultural heritages kicked off in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. On display were 24 selected items and 65 creative works by Zhejiang's inheritors of cultural heritage.

In July, the provincial department of culture and tourism began the registration process for the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritages. A total of 30 applications and recommendations from Zhejiang were submitted for further assessment.

In September, the provincial department of culture and tourism and the municipal government of Hangzhou jointly hosted the 11th Hangzhou Craft Week, exhibiting a total of 300 intangible cultural heritages to over 230,000 visitors.

Throughout the year, the province implemented a three-year action plan to integrate intangible cultural heritages into the tourism industry by building 50 traditional culture-themed towns and displaying 100 featured products at the 11th China International Tourism Commodities Fair in Yiwu in April.
