The gross domestic product (GDP) of east China's Anhui Province was estimated to grow by over 7.5 percent in 2019.
The output of strategic emerging industries in the province rose 14.7 percent in 2019, said Li Guoying, governor of Anhui, in his government work report delivered Sunday at the ongoing annual session of the provincial people's congress.
As one of China's manufacturing powerhouses, the province has attached great significance to innovative and high-quality development, with more than 1,200 new companies listed as high-tech enterprises last year, said the governor.
The province's foreign trade volume grew by over 7 percent year on year in 2019.
The year of 2019 also witnessed the historic moment of all 16 prefecture-level cities in the province entering the era of high-speed trains.
