A fire that broke out in a petrochemical firm on Tuesday in south China's Guangdong Province has been put out, and no casualties have been reported, local authorities said Tuesday.
The emergency management department of the city of Zhuhai said the fire, which started at around 1:40 p.m. in Gaolan Port Economic Zone, was extinguished at around 3:50 p.m. Environmental monitoring stations have yet to report any abnormalities.
At least 40 fire engines and 200 firefighters have been dispatched to the site to put out the fire and rescue people.
Manual environmental monitoring and rescue efforts are still ongoing. The cause of the fire is under further investigation.
