China's Zhejiang Province saw rapid growth in foreign trade in 2019, authorities said.
The total import and export volume of last year was predicted to exceed three trillion yuan (435 billion U.S. dollars) in the eastern province, according to Sheng Qiuping, head of the provincial department of commerce.
Exports grew about 8.5 percent year on year in the province last year, according to estimates. Zhejiang saw exports grow 11 percent to countries along the Belt and Road.
The city of Yiwu in Zhejiang sent 528 cargo trains to Europe in 2019, up 65 percent year on year. Yiwu is home to the world's leading small commodities market.
