Located in the middle of the Jianghuai hills in Anhui province, Chao Lake is one of the five largest freshwater lakes in China. It is called “Chao Lake” (meaning Nest Lake in Chinese) because it looks like a bird’s nest. When the dusk draws in, the golden sparkling waves and the shadow of the sails create a charming scene. The beauty of Chao Lake is also added to by its surrounding mountains - the rising layers of the mountain peaks look magnificent.
