Service outsourcing

Chengdu is one of the top 50 "Global Service Outsourcing Emerging Cities" and has over 600 certified software companies. More than 20 top 100 global service outsourcing companies have settled in Chengdu such as IBM, HiSoft, Wipro and Beyondsoft, and nearly 50 multinational corporations have established global delivery centers, shared service centers, or R&D centers in Chengdu.

In 2018, Chengdu's offshore service outsourcing contract value was 17.67 billion yuan ($2.57 billion), up 10.68 percent year-on-year; the offshore execution amount was 11.90 billion yuan ($17.30 billion), up 10.05 percent year-on-year.

Chengdu is promoting the construction of a national service outsourcing demonstration city, in order to carry on the large-scale transfer of its international service outsourcing industry and become a major destination for a domestic service outsourcing industry shifting from east to west - as well as turning into an internationally renowned, first-class, and leading mid-western service outsourcing demonstration city. By 2022, Chengdu plans to reach 18.5 billion yuan of offshore service outsourcing and 74 billion yuan of onshore service outsourcing.
