Chaoyang Park is a multi-functional and comprehensive national-level high-tech park that focuses on developing the electronic information industry, and it was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. It is an essential part of Zhongguancun Science Park, and a core area for the development of high-tech technological industry in Chaoyang district.
Chaoyang Park is an important base for the development of mobile communication, photoelectric display and the computer and network industries. It consists of an east area (Jiuxian Bridge), west area (Wangjing), north area and also Jianxiang Park – covering a total area of 16.8 square kilometers.
In June 2007, Chaoyang district assumed managerial responsibilities and formed the Administrative Committee of Chaoyang Park. The district is in charge of the park planning and construction management and the Administrative Committee manages the four areas of the park.
Chaoyang Park aims to achieve nine goals with respect to planning, including, reporting and approval, compensation for relocated residents and attracting business and investment.
It also aims to achieve innovations relating to areas such as planning and industry development, construction and coordination, environmental protection and also the internal operation system of the Administrative Committee, with a focus on developing electronic information, biotech pharmaceuticals and high-tech services.
Zhongguancun Science Park offers various preferential policies to Chaoyang Park, focusing on such areas as the development of software and integrated circuit, encouraging securities investment and the development of funds and dedicated import tax policy for crucial technology.
Many famous companies have settled in the park, including PERA Technology (Beijing) Ltd, Agilent Technology (China) Ltd, Beijing Aimer Underwear Ltd, ABB (China) Ltd, BOE Technology Group Ltd and Anton Oil Technology (Group) Ltd.
