Guangxi, Taiwan boost cooperation and exchanges

A reception event for people from Taiwan in Guangxi was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Dec 20 to welcome the new year, attracting about 150 government officials from Guangxi, as well as businessmen, teachers, and students from Taiwan.

Xu Shaochuan, head of the United Front Work Department of CPC Guangxi Committee, said at the reception that Guangxi has deepened economic and trade cooperation, expanded cultural exchanges, as well as shared new development opportunities with Taiwan in recent years. Xu added that Guangxi will strengthen the contacts and interactions with Taiwan's business community and economic groups.

Xu also stressed that Guangxi will attract more investment from Taiwan with its first-class business environment, added preferential policies, and thoughtful services.

Li Dongxing, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, noted that up to November of this year, Guangxi had 32 new Taiwan-funded enterprises and projects, as well as more than 1.3 million people-to-people exchanges between Guangxi and Taiwan.

The Taiwan Affairs Office of Guangxi will continue to take advantage of Guangxi's resources, deepen exchanges and cooperation in all areas of Guangxi and Taiwan, as well as further create a good business environment to provide Taiwan people with the same treatment as Guangxi residents in employment, entrepreneurship, and study, added Li.
