Driverless motoring
Chinese internet giant Baidu had a trial run for its Apollo RoboTaxi on roads in Changsha, capital of Hunan province, in September. In the landmark event in China's intelligent connected car development, 45 self-driving taxis were used.
These vehicles, co-produced by Baidu and domestic carmaker FAW Hongqi, are Level 4 driverless vehicles powered Apollo's autonomous driving technology, and are capable of driving without human intervention in limited areas with given conditions.
