Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen Automobile Co Ltd (DPCA) is a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Group and PSA Peugeot Citroen. It was established in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, on May 18, 1992.
DPCA is one of the major three passenger vehicle manufacturing bases in China. A modern automobile manufacturing base and a technology center with complete research and development testing functions, capacity for independent research, development, and innovation have been built in Wuhan and Xiangyang, China's Hubei province. A fourth vehicle factory is under construction in Chengdu.
DPCA built three factories in Wuhan with advanced technology and equipment, which have an annual output of 600,000 vehicles. The first factory, with an output of more than 300,000 vehicles per year, focuses on producing economic and intermediate passenger vehicles. The second factory, with an estimated output of more than 150,000 per year, mainly produces high-end passenger cars. And the third factory, covering an area of 1.31 million square meters, has an estimated output of 300,000 vehicles per year. It mainly produces passenger cars including pony and mid-size cars, and SUVs.
With the operation and management mode of "one company, two brands", the company's two brand departments -- Dongfeng Citroen and Dongfeng Peugeot -- are located in Shanghai and Beijing respectively.
Today DPCA has several laboratories, an automotive modeling exhibition hall, and a high standard vehicle testing field.
The company has been awarded as a "Best Unit" for nine consecutive years, and won more than 100 scientific and technological progress awards.
