An English and art salon was established at the Imperial Shield Preschool in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province on Dec 14. It is part of a project on international culture-building being undertaken by the Qingdao Taiping Bay Wanbo Cultural Media Center.
The salon is meant to give locals an immersive British cultural experience and help them learn English in an authentic way with the help of talented foreign teachers.
A series of activities on art, cultural, and music exchange will be held regularly at the salon on weekends, serving as an international exchange platform for residents.
According to Wang Kaisheng, general manager of the Qingdao Taiping Bay Wanbo Cultural Media Center, the building project merges architectural features from different countries and will revolve around exhibitions, charity, culture, food, and homestays. It is expected to give the Taipingjiao area a more internationalized and British feel.
In the future, the salon is expected to become an important English and art exchange center for Qingdao.
