China's Dazhong Go, which is part of the Shanghai Dazhong Transportation Group, and Japan's Daiwa Motor Transportation Co Ltd on Wednesday signed a collaboration agreement in Shanghai which would improve the travel experience of their customers in Tokyo and Shanghai.
According to the agreement, Chinese tourists can use the Dazhong Go app to book taxi services at Tokyo Haneda International Airport and Narita International Airport as well as around the city.
Meanwhile, Japanese tourists can use the Daiwa website and app to order taxis anywhere in Shanghai, including at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Pudong International Airport. They can also book tour vans through these platforms.
This new service – it begins in January 2020 - will help tourists overcome language barriers and provide them with a safer travel experience, the two taxi services said.
Outbound travel between China and Japan has risen significantly in recent years and the new service is aimed at further strengthening relations between the two nations and their people, according to Daiwa Motor Transportation.
Yang Guoping, chairman and president of Dazhong Transportation Group, said that the management experience and service excellence of the Japanese taxi company are worth learning from.
"Our group is also talking with transportation authorities and taxi service providers in France, the United Kingdom and South Korea about similar collaborative projects," he added.
