Wuxi, located in East China's Jiangsu province, released a blue book on Dec 16 reporting on the development of the city's new industries.
The report said that new industries, including internet of things, integrated circuits, and new materials, have been strong drivers of Wuxi's industrial transformation.
In 2018, 10 of Wuxi's 15 major economic indicators increased faster than the provincial average. New industries grew by 14.1 percent, higher than the provincial average of 5.3 percent.
A number of Wuxi's leading new industry enterprises are doing well in global markets. Wuxi IoT companies have undertaken or participated in IoT engineering projects in over 60 countries and regions and in a variety of different fields, including environmental protection, transportation, logistics, and security.
A representative from the Wuxi New Industry Research Association said the report was made because they wanted to carry out research on the industrial development trajectory and overall situation of Wuxi's new industries and continue to change goals and expectations in order to better promote development.
In accordance with the national strategy of promoting the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, Wuxi plans to integrate its new industries with modern technology and improve its business environment and policies to propel the development of new industries, according to a government representative.
