First phase of Yantai intelligent base is completed

The first phase of the National Information Security and Intelligent Manufacturing R&D Base, located in Yantai in East China's Shandong province, was completed on Dec 3, allowing preparations to be made for its operation, according to officials.

The facility, which is part of Yantai's efforts to further accelerate its industrial development and boost emerging industries, was funded by China Electronics Corporation Group with an investment of 2 billion yuan ($298.5 million).

It is expected to become a first-class electronic information development center and serve as an example for developing strategic emerging industries in Shandong province.
