An activity encouraging locals to experience the city's featured intangible cultural heritages took place in Yantai's Zhifu district on Dec 14.
The event, which will run until Jan 1, 2020, invited more than 10 artists to showcase their skills in paper-cutting, woolen embroidery, wood carving and Jiaodong Bobo, which is a local variety of creative steamed buns.
During the event, intangible cultural heritage courses will be held every weekend in which the artists will teach visitors about intangible cultural heritages and encourage them to promote Chinese traditional culture to more people.
The event will promote the protection of intangible cultural heritages and also encourage their evolution.
The city government also launched a series of promotional campaigns to boost winter tourism, including activities in celebration of New Year's Day.
