A list ranking the top 100 most livable Chinese cities was recently published. Zhejiang has six cities named among the top 20: Shaoxing, Jinhua, Jiaxing, Taizhou, Hangzhou and Ningbo.
The list was jointly created by the Institute of Economics of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and the Asia Competitiveness Institute of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
The list analyzed a city's livability according to its economic vigor and competitiveness, environmental sustainability, social security and stability, cultural conditions and urban governance.
Shaoxing, placed at number 10, is now in a golden development period. It will soon build a new coastal area to become one of the "top four new zones" in the Greater Bay Area of Zhejiang.
With a history of thousands of years, Shaoxing is renowned for abundant tourism resources including cultural relics like the Yu the Great Mausoleum, and many residences of famous figures in Chinese history.
Shaoxing is recognized as one of the most famous historical and cultural cities in China. Moreover, as a city to the south of the Yangtze Delta, the natural scenery in Shaoxing is charming and varied, with an intriguing landscape of green hills and clean waters.
