Macao Fisherman's Wharf
澳门渔人码头
It was built on the new reclamation coast, near the Macao Ferry Terminal, Macao Cultural Centre as well as Golden Lotus Square. With an area of more than 111,500 square meters, it collects entertainment, shopping, restaurants, hotels, marinas, convention and exhibition facilities, and combines different architectural features as well as Chinese and Western culture. It hopes to make visitors break geographical boundaries and experience the feel of different areas.
The concept of Macao Fisherman's Wharf came from Europe and the United States on a wave of nostalgia. It is not only a single entertainment area but is also a comprehensive Happy Palace. The Wharf has numerous specialty shops, Lan Kwai Fong, and a Continental Restaurant & Bar.
Macao Fisherman's Wharf mixes Chinese and Western cultures with old and modern fashion. The scenic area is divided into three specialty areas: Chinatown, East Meets West and Lijun Wharf.
The mighty "Chinatown" is a Chinese tower built based in the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty (618-907); "East Meets West" blends traditional Oriental concepts and Western architectural style design features, including a 40-meter-high man-made volcano, waterfalls, Greek architecture, ancient warships, an Arab children's play area, the Roman Forum, a specialty shopping mall and convention facilities; and "Lijun Wharf", with a coast design as its theme, consists of European and Latin-style buildings and features a variety of leisure and entertainment facilities including a modern water arena and electronic games center.
In addition, there are museums, restaurants, an Indian garden, a Chinese-style courtyard and garden as well as music facilities and other leisure venues.
