A voluntary service project competition concluded in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with its final held on Dec 5, according to local media reports.
The competition -- jointly hosted by the civilization office of the Baotou and Baotou Volunteer Service Federation -- kicked off at the start of this year. A total of 107 voluntary service projects meeting the requirements registered their interest in participating.
Ten projects were selected to enter the final -- covering areas including poverty alleviation, mental health education, medical treatment for the sick, help for the disabled, energy conservation and environmental protection and emergency rescues.
