Zhanjiang promotes development of industrial parks

In the past three years, Zhanjiang has built four industrial parks at the 10 billion yuan ($1.43 billion) level, forming an industrial pattern with the iron and steel, petrochemicals, and paper making industry as the leading industries, with traditional industries like home appliances, agricultural and marine products processing, and furniture manufacturing as complementary industries.

Zhanjiang has formulated one master plan of city-level industrial parks, as well as sub-plans of industrial parks in 12 counties and districts. It has initially formed a development pattern of Zhanjiang Industrial Park as the core and the remaining 11 regional parks providing expansion, upgrading, and service opportunities.

In the past three years, 119 new projects have been launched, 89 new projects have been put into production, and investment in industrial projects has reached 72 billion yuan. At present, Zhanjiang has one national economic and technological development zone, one high-tech industrial development zone, eight provincial economic development zones, as well as eight provincial industrial transfer industrial parks. The number of industrial parks above the provincial level ranks first in Guangdong province.

In the future, Zhanjiang will promote the development of industrial parks with high efficiency. It has already taken the lead in formulating and implementing the action plan to accelerate 5G industry development in western Guangdong.
