​Jinan's nighttime economy ranks among top 10 in China

Jinan's nighttime economy ranked among China's top 10, according to a list released at the 2019 China Nighttime Economy Forum held in Wuhu, Anhui province on Nov 16.

Nighttime activities have become increasingly popular with tourists visiting the city in recent years, with many coming to enjoy the views and soak up the local culture.

Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, issued a series of measures to stimulate nighttime economy.

The city is developing late-night shopping clusters such as the "Impression · Jinan Spring World" commercial block, promoting night snake markets, and encouraging the building of 24-hour convenience stores, bookstores, and movie theatres.

It also released a guide to help tourists find the best places to go at night, which highlighted a total of 99 popular spots for enjoying local snacks, cultural tourism and night entertainment.

The multimedia light show at Daming Lake and night boat tours along the city moat have proved popular over the past several months and have become must-sees for visitors. The light show at Daming Lake was also listed among China's top 10 night performances.
