Jinan puts in first batch of hydrogen-fuel cell buses

Jinan's first 10 hydrogen-fuel cell buses were put into operation on Nov 24 on bus route K115.

The buses were developed by Weichai Group and have passed inspections for temperature control, reliability and durability and they have a maximum range of over 350 kilometers.

Hydrogen fuel is widely believed to be one of the cleanest forms of energy in the world, as it generates only water during the fuelling process and emits zero pollutants.

Officials said the Jinan government purchased a total of 40 hydrogen-fuel cell buses from Weichai.

With the development of the hydrogen industry, the city will continue to promote the adoption of the vehicles with hydrogen fueled.

Jinan is planning to build more hydrogen stations and other supporting facilities in the near future.
