US tech giant Microsoft launched its first package of software designed for both the Chinese government and customers in the education sector, in Jinan's Shizhong district on Dec 5.
The software package, based on Surface Pro 7, is an important investment by Microsoft to meet the needs of the Chinese market. It aims to help more companies and organizations accelerate their digital transformation.
At the launch ceremony, Microsoft also announced that the world's first Surface eco-innovation center is to be built in Shizhong district, which will attract more software companies to Jinan.
In 2014, Microsoft set up its first provincial branch - after Shanghai and Guangzhou - in Shizhong district of Jinan city, named Shandong branch of Microsoft China.
The company reached a further consensus with the Shizhong government to jointly promote the establishment of the world's first Surface eco-innovation center at Qingdao Multinationals Summit on Oct 19.
The eco-innovation center will be launched at Jinan science and technology industry innovation demonstration park, which has also lured some leading companies in the field such as Alibaba, SAP and Foxconn.
Accordingly, Microsoft is planning to set up a settlement center and an innovation exhibition center in Shizhong district.
