Green intelligent industry project worth $21.9b signed in Jinan

The Jinan government signed a cooperative agreement with Shandong Heavy Industry Group (SHIG) to build a green intelligent industry city.

Wang Zhonglin, Party secretary of Jinan, Sun Shutao, mayor of Jinan and Zheng Deyan, deputy mayor of Jinan attended the signing ceremony on Dec 11.

The project, with a total investment of 153.5 billion yuan ($21.9 billion), will be launched in the city's Laiwu district.

It focuses on boosting high-end green intelligent manufacturing industry and attracting supporting enterprises and talents. Official said that it aims to develop into an industrial cluster with high operation efficiency, innovation capacity and low manufacturing costs.

The industry area will also pay attention to smart heavy trucks, intelligent forklifts and intelligent test field projects and advancing high-end manufacturing by developing green technologies.
