LUSAKA-- A Zambian government official hailed the progress of a China-aided milling plant project in Chongwe, a town in the Lusaka Province of Zambia on Dec 2.
The Zambian government was pleased with the speedy and high-quality work of the project carried out so far, said Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo during his inspection of the plant over the weekend.
According to him, the project was at 85 percent of completion and would be operational by June 2020.
Describing the milling plant project as a game changer, Lusambo said, once completed, the plant would help stabilize the price of a mealie-meal in the province and provide employment for the locals.
The project was a clear testimony of sound relationship between Zambia and China, Lusambo added.
