Er ren tai history play staged in Baotou

A history play in the art form of er ren tai is staged at Baotou Manhan Art Theater in Baotou, a city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Nov 11. The production of the history play, written in 2017, was financed by the China National Arts Fund, officials said. In Chinese, er ren tai literally means “two people on stage”. It is a category of local opera performed by two singers: one male and one female. The production integrated the art form of er en tai with Mongolian music to highlight elements of Mongolia’s grassland culture. [Photo/Baotou Evening News]
