Baotou high school signs up with Lanzhou University

No 1 Senior High School of First Machinery Group in Baotou has become one of Lanzhou University’s enrollment bases following an agreement signing ceremony held recently, according to a Nov 11 report in the Baotou Evening News.

As a national comprehensive university under the direct authority of the Ministry of Education, Lanzhou University (LZU) is one of the universities supported by China’s  “Project 985” and “Project 211” national university development initiatives.

Project 985 is a project to promote the development and reputation of the Chinese education system by founding world-class universities in the 21st century. Project 211 is project of National Key Universities and colleges with the aim of raising research standards of top universities and cultivating strategies for socio-economic development.

Founded in 1909, LZU is a national scientific research talent training base and has cultivated a group of innovative talent in the field of high-precision scientific research.

No 1 Senior High School of First Machinery Group is among the first batch of demonstration senior high schools in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and the only foreign language school in the autonomous region.

Founded in 1960, the school has delivered more than 40,000 talented graduates to colleges and universities all over the country.

In recent years, the school has established partnerships with top universities at home and abroad -- including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nankai University, Shanghai University, China Pharmaceutical University and Italian universities.
