The Baotou Machinery Industry Vocational School has won the prestigious National Teaching Achievements Award, according to an Oct 24 report in the Baotou Daily.
The award, supported by the State Council, is held once every four years. Two schools in Inner Mongolia autonomous region were selected on the list, one being Baotou Machinery Industry Vocational School, the another was the Inner Mongolia Technical College of Mechanics and Electronics.
Founded in 2007, Baotou Machinery Industry Vocational School is a national key secondary vocational school. The Baotou-based school actively implements the school-enterprise cooperation model, officials said. It has established an evaluation system with equal emphasis on theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Officials said the school has strengthened its ties with Baotou-based State-owned companies -- including Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group -- and improved its methods of nurturing talented students.
Students from the school have won several national-level awards. Earlier in May this year, its student Cai Chunbo, scooped up second prize at the 2019 National Vocational Students Skills Competition -- which is also known as China Skills, a national vocational college student skills contest initiated by the Ministry of Education.
