An oral health center was set up at the Hospital of Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group, marking the first oral health center established in Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to an Oct 28 Baotou Daily report.
Officials said the newly established oral health center will give full play to the promotion and guidance of oral health, establish and improve a business guidance network, carry out standardized training on oral hygiene in Qingshan district, guide medical institutions to carry out oral disease prevention and treatment -- and popularize oral health knowledge.
Sept 20 marked the 31st Teeth Care Day in China, officials said.
They said the day was designated to promote awareness of dental hygiene and health.
Baotou city actively responded to the call of Teeth Care Day and chose the Hospital of Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group to base the oral health center.
Established in 1958, the Hospital of Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group covers an area of 50,000 square meters and a construction area of 44,855 sq m. It has 516 beds and treats more than 281,000 outpatients and over 6,600 inpatients every year.
The hospital has won numerous honors -- including the Civilized Hospital of Mongolia and the Advanced Hospital of the Baotou Rural and Pastoral Area Healthcare Service.
