The 2019 Shenyang Han Chinese clothing festival was held at the Jiuwu Culture City in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Nov 23, with participation of some 1,000 people, according to the organizers.
Han Chinese clothing refers to the traditional costume of the Han ethnic group, which forms a significant part of China’s traditional costume culture.
The organizers said the event aimed to promote the traditional culture to more people and help to raise young people’s cultural confidence.
Han Chinese clothing from different dynasties was showcased during the event, including items made in Tang Dynasty (618-907) fashion, Song Dynasty (960-1279) style and the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) style.
Performers demonstrated traditional etiquette, while wearing traditional clothing, during the activity.
Organizers said that to attract more participants, poetry recitations, traditional dance and more cultural activities were held, to promote unique traditional Chinese culture.
