Hosted by the Shaanxi provincial government and the Malaysia-China Business Council, the Belt and Road Shaanxi Trade Expo 2019 kicked off in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, on Nov 25, attracting nearly 100 Shaanxi companies with featured products to participate in it.
With an exhibition area of over 3,000 square meters, the expo consists of exhibition areas for special products, industrial products, culture, food, and Malaysian products. The event will last until Nov 27.
Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian said that this year is the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. China will continue to deepen economic and trade cooperation with Malaysia.
The Malaysian government's special envoy to China Tan Kok Wai said that Shaanxi has a long history and rich tourism resources, adding that it is one of the popular destinations for Malaysian citizens to travel to China.
The year 2020 is the "China-Malaysia Cultural Tourism Year" and more Shaanxi tourists are welcome to come and visit Malaysia, he added.
Wu Fujie, vice president of the Shaanxi Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that it is hoped that the expo will build a broader platform for enterprises of the two countries and further expand cooperation.
