The Taiyuan Donghu Vinegar Park is located at No 26 Madaopo between Dongshan Expressway and Jianshebei Road in Taiyuan. It was developed from a vinegar workshop called Meiheju established in 1368. Its 600-year making technique has been evaluated as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Since the park opened in 2000, it has received 3 million visits. It comprises a vinegar therapy park, a display room and modern filling assembly lines.
The park has a cultural and historical museum of Shanxi vinegar based on the Meiheju vinegar workshop and also an industrial tourism park. The Donghu vinegar park was evaluated as a national industrial tourism demonstration site in 2004 and became a 4A scenic area in 2010.
