Shinan hosts intl forum on fashion industry

The High-end Dialogue on the Integrated Development of the Fashion Industry and Fashion Education was held in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province on Nov 9 as part of the 2019 Qingdao World University Student Fashion Design Competition.

Around 200 representatives from government departments, design colleges, and well-known enterprises participated in the dialogue to discuss fashion education and industrial development.

Yang Guoliang, chairman of Shandong Hairun Investment Group, said that the city has turned itself into a new fashion center and that the dialogue would help promote the integration of fashion and education.

Mr Venchiarutti Stefano, vice-president of ISAL Paris in France, said that the college has been focusing on cultivating young designers and that it is important to create a suitable environment for them. He also expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Chinese brands.

The competition attracts many talents and other fashion resources and serves as a platform for integrating fashion education with the fashion industry.

The district plans to enhance exchanges with top art colleges such as the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and ensure that sustainable cooperative projects are carried out in the district.
