100-day countdown begins to National Winter Games

A dazzling evening gala heralding the 14th National Winter Games will be staged on the evening of Nov 8, announcing the 100-day countdown of the national sports event, according to nmgnews.com.cn.

The evening gala, which takes place at Inner Mongolia Gymnasium in Hohhot, capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will include singing and dance performances, as well as the participation of famous Chinese athletes.

The 14th National Winter Games -- which will kick off on Feb 16, 2020 in Hulunbuir -- is the first large comprehensive sporting event to be hosted by Inner Mongolia in over 70 years.

The games will also be the most significant winter sporting event held in China before the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games.
