Day 1  Baizhang Vally – Huanglong Cave – Baofeng Lake

In the morning, you can take pictures of precipices in Baizhang Valley, which presents different views in different seasons.

In Spring, there are cherry blossoms and Azalea flowers; in Summer, the valley is always surrounded by clouds and fogs; in Autumn, it is covered by red leaves.

You can take pictures of farming land and limestone caves in the morning at Huanglong Cave area. In the afternoon, you can take pictures of Gaoxiaping Lake, where you may find the sunset merging into the forest if lucky enough. In the evening, you can take photos of Wulingyuan and Xibu Street.

Tips:

If the temperature difference is large due to rapid change of weather, it is advisable to go to Baofeng Lake early in the morning, so you can take pictures of the misty lake.

Day 2 Yuanjiajie Scenic Area – Yangjiajie Scenic Area

Entering from the Wujiayu ticket station in the morning, you can take pictures of the Eco Wall and Xuanguan Cliff along the Suoxi dam.

Then you can take a green car and get off at the Bailong Elevator, so you can take pictures at Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. If it rains, you may view the misty forest, looking like a fairy land.

Mountains and cliffs in Zhangjiajie is not too high, so it is favorable to take pictures at 10 a.m. or 5 p.m.. You can take pictures of the mountains at Bailong Elevator.

In the afternoon, you can take pictures of sunset at Tianbo Mansion. You can stay at Tianzi Mountain at night, where you can take pictures of mountains under the moon.

Day 3 Tianzi Mountain

You can take pictures of sunrise on the cableway at Tianzi Mountain, which is the highest place of the whole Wulingyuan Scenic Area and the best place to shoot the scene of sunrise and clouds.

Tianzi Pavilion is the best place to take pictures of Yubi Peak under sunlight. After that, you can go to Dianjiang Terrace or Shentang Bay, where are relatively low in altitude and good for shooting the scenery of forest in clouds. It is more appropriate to take pictures here at 10 a.m. or 5 p.m..

You can go back to Tianzi Mountain in the afternoon and take pictures of Yuni Peak against the sunlight.

What's more, Tianzi Mountain area is also a good place to take pictures of snow-covered landscape, hard rime and icicle.

Day 4 Laowuchang – Yangjiajie Scenic Area (Tianzi Mountain)

Get up early and go to Laowuchang to take pictures of the farming land on the mountain top and the Bailong Elevator. You can take photos along the Immortals Bridge.

In the afternoon, you can depart for Yangjiajie or Tianzi Mountain if you are not satisfied with the pictures taken the previous day.

Day 5 Huangshi Village – Golden Whip Cliff

You can take pictures of sunrise at the cableway in Huangshi Village early in the morning. If you are lucky enough, you can take a shoot of the grand scenery of Tianmen Mountain.

If there's strong light, you can take picture of Huangshi Valley; if it rains, you can take a shoot of mountains and cliffs in clouds.

In the afternoon, you can take pictures along the Golden Whip Cliff, which is suitable for weak-light shooting, preferably in rainy days or in the evening.

Attentions:

1. In Wulingyuan Scenic Area, the sunrise is at about 5:30 in Summer and Autumn, and about 6:20 in Spring and Winter. The sunset is at about 19:00 in Summer and Autumn, and about 18:20 in Spring and Winter.

2. There is much rain in Spring and Summer in Zhangjiajie, please take an umbrella or a raincoat with you.

3. There is no special bus for photographers, and private cars are not allowed to enter the scenic area. You may stay at hotels near the scenic areas or rent a car.

4. Be careful when taking pictures because roads are rather steep. When the shooting position is chosen, please don't move or move backward in case of danger.

5. Normal lens will be enough unless you want to take pictures of plants, rare animals or people.
