A conference discussing ways to further open up the economy and industries of Shandong province took place at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on Nov 6.
Liu Jiayi, Party chief of Shandong province, delivered a keynote address at the conference.
Shandong is now more open to economic development and foreign investment than ever before. The province has established a number of groundbreaking initiatives, including the rapid development of a comprehensive pilot area for new and old kinetic energy conversion, the demonstration area for local economic and trade cooperation between China and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the open platform for Qingdao Multinationals Summit, said Liu.
The province has enacted a series of policies designed to stimulate trade, and attract industries and skilled workers. The provincial government has also promoted the development of a well-regulated business environment, Liu added.
Shandong is ready to work with investors and innovative entrepreneurs from all over the world, Liu promised.
Liu was followed by government representatives from Qingdao, Jinan and Yantai who introduced their respective areas of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
More than 500 people, including senior executives from foreign economic and trade departments and multinational corporations, representatives of overseas projects, industrial and commercial organizations, business associations and entrepreneurs attended the conference.
